The Olay Regenerist line was the product line that introduced niacinamide into my beauty arsenal and I have been more in favor of niacinamide than any other active ingredient, even alpha lipoic acid and vitamin e. Now, Olay has impressed me again with its incredible new technology: a FOAM that pampers the skin. The reason why I am writing about this product isn’t because of its outstanding ingredients or impressive marketing ploy, but the fun texture it provides… something I have never experienced in a topical skin lotion before. It feels like you’re squeezing one of those foaming skin cleansers (I’d like to imagine it to be whipped cream!) from an aerosol can and the feeling upon application to the skin is dewy and instant absorption. The ingredient list isn’t all bad for a mass market product, and I have BOLDED the active ingredients below: WATER, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, GLYCERIN, DIMETHICONE, NIACINAMIDE, ISOBUTANE, PROPANE, PANTHENOL, POLYETHYLENE, PALMITOYL PENTAPEPTIDE-4, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, CARNOSINE, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, ALLANTOIN, IMETHICONOL,DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, DMDM HYDANTOIN, POLYSORBATE 20, POLYACRYLAMIDE, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE, LAURETH-4, LAURETH-7, C13-14 ISOPARAFFIN, PEG-100 STEARATE, DISODIUM EDTA, CITRIC ACID, FRAGRANCE,TIN OXIDE, MICA. Niacinamide is a great antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-regenerating agent with mild to moderate acne-restrictive properties. The possible complications with this formula is irritation because of the inclusion of synthetics (including its version of Vitamin E) preservatives and fragrance. The texture and the lovely way it sinks into the skin, however, is not offered by purely natural and organic cosmetics, so I do enjoy this product. I love using this as a base to my powder active ingredients. I will pour half a teaspoon of pure niacinamide powder into a small dish, sometimes I will add white willow extract and white licorice extract (for calming effects that compliment niacinamide’s acne-fighting and anti-inflammatory action) along with it. The Olay Regenerist Reversal Treatment Foam’s incredible foaming texture helps me blend and dissolve the active ingredient powder better and helps absorption into the skin rather than having a thick, sticky film over my face. I love this product so much that I slather it on everywhere, on my neck, chest, underarm, tummy, even buttocks and my waistline…. basically, anywhere I feel needs a little skin-boosting attention. Give it a try, I hope you enjoy the luxurious experience of slathering on super-fine foam into your skin as much as I do! Best of all, NO MESS, NO STICKINESS, easy and fast in a fun aerosol can! Enjoy! |
